Pune District Court successfully resolved 201 cheque bounce cases during a special Lok Adalat held on July 18, 2026. Organized under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge and DLSA Pune Chairman A.T. Wankhede, in line with directions from the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority, the drive focused on matters under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
A total of 15 panels heard 3,742 pending matters, resulting in 201 amicable settlements. While the total claim value stood at over Rs 5.66 crore, cases were settled through mutual agreement at a total value exceeding Rs 5.75 crore. Highlighting the success of the initiative, DLSA Pune Secretary Revati R. Deshpande announced that the next special Lok Adalat for cheque bounce cases will be held on November 21, 2026, urging litigants to utilize the opportunity.
