The Deccan Police Station’s ongoing financial homicide investigation has met a solid wall of judicial resistance after a Pune court flatly rejected the bail pleas of four high-profile associates arrested in connection with the mysterious death of prominent real estate developer Ashok Milapchand Jain. The multi-million rupee construction dispute took a dark turn when the 61-year-old builder was found dead inside a hotel room on Apte Road in Pune, leaving behind a highly controversial note blaming his business partners for a massive 150 million INR financial fraud.
Additional Public Prosecutor Rajesh Kavedia presented a chilling preliminary medical brief to the sessions judge, demonstrating that the builder’s body bore at least 13 distinct physical injuries and deep scratch marks, alongside strong chemical indicators pointing toward suspected poisoning. The defense advocates aggressively pushed for immediate release, arguing that the deceased suffered from pre-existing health conditions and that a standard corporate default should not be twisted into a non-bailable criminal murder trial before the final post-mortem analysis is submitted.
However, the presiding judge observed that the physical note left behind by the deceased builder acts as an invaluable piece of dying declaration evidence that cannot be ignored. The court ruled that determining the direct causal link between the alleged 15-crore construction fraud and the unnatural death is a matter for a full trial, not a pre-trial bail hearing. With the final chemical analyzer reports still pending from the state forensic laboratory, the court declared that releasing the four elderly accused individuals—Nathusingh Purohit, Satish Rajpurohit, Bhagwansing Rajpurohit, and Prahaladram Chaudhary—would severely compromise the police’s ability to recover hidden account ledgers and interview hotel staff. The ruling sends a clear message to the local business community that aggressive financial coercion crossing into physical harm will be treated with maximum legal severity.
