The legal infrastructure landscape in Pune is undergoing a major upgrade as the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) announced that the structural RCC work for the new, specialized Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court building has rapidly advanced to 95% completion. Constructed within the main District & Sessions Court premises by Tata Projects Limited under an administrative outlay of ₹16.63 crores, this dedicated five-story (G+4) building is uniquely designed with a customized heritage look to perfectly match the historic architecture of the central court complex.
The project arose from a reciprocal infrastructural agreement where the District Court handed over permanent land inside its compound for the strategic Hinjawadi-to-Shivajinagar Metro Line-3 running section and upcoming court metro station staircase. In return, the development authority undertook the construction of this premium, child-friendly judicial structure to help clear massive backlogs surrounding minor-assault litigations in the district.
